Really love Beenleigh Blue but, you’re right, the last lot I ordered (do most of my cheese ordering online) was stronger than I’ve ever had it. A bit too strong if I’m honest as it overlaid the kind of ‘nutty’ flavours I like about this cheese. Wondered if it was because I’d had it in February rather than Spring/summer. Is this a reason? The season due to winter/summer milk differences?
Less proud to admit that so far it’s still in my monstrously long to-read list, but due to the subject matter, there can be no doubt that I’ll get to it eventually 🙂↕️✨
Yes! Blue cheese IS for life, not just for Christmas! 💙
That’s the spirit, Anna!
Coming from the next village, I'm very fond of Barkham Blue but I'm currently having a montagnolo affine moment.
A couple of my favourite people won't touch cheese, which is frankly heart-breaking.

You’re so right about Beenleigh ice cream, Ned! I’d love love love to try a spoonful of this! Gap in the market…?🫣
Also, as a relative newbie to cheese, especially blue cheese, your articles always teach me new types to look out for; thank you for that!
Aw shucks. Right back atcha. Loved your Rheims piece!
Also, you know I wrote a whole book about French cheese…? https://www.waterstones.com/book/a-cheesemongers-tour-de-france/ned-palmer/9781788166942
Proud to say I did know! :D
